LIGHT DUTY 4 INCH CASTOR WHEEL

High-temperature production lines—from boutique bakeries in Nairobi’s Industrial Area to paint-curing ovens in Thika—depend on castors that will not warp, seize or delaminate when the heat is on. Our Light-Duty Heat-Resistant Castor Wheel 4″ (100 mm) is purpose-built for these harsh Kenyan conditions.

The wheel core is one-piece grey cast iron machined to a concentric run-out of <0.3 mm. Cast iron retains structural strength far above the melting point of most rubber or nylon treads and, backed by a high-temperature grease pack, this model operates continuously from –30 °C to +300 °C. That covers everything from cold-room roll-in racks to commercial bread ovens.

Unlike plain-bore wheels that can grind under load, a fully caged ball-bearing race reduces push-pull force by up to 35 %. Independent lab tests on similar high-temp skates show ball bearings maintain lubrication film to 250 °C . Lower rolling resistance means operators move loads safely and with less fatigue.

Kenya’s caster-wheel market is forecast to grow 8.67 % year-on-year by 2027 on the back of expanding food-processing and logistics hubs. Being locally stocked, your downtime is minimano and  waiting for overseas spares. The fork and 93 × 62 mm top plate are hot-dip zinc-plated for corrosion protection.

Local Use Cases For The High Temperature Castor Wheel

  1. Commercial bakeries in Kenya – Stainless steel rack trolleys rolling in and out of 230 °C convection ovens multiple times per hour.

  2. Ceramic production industries in Kenya – Kiln-car dollies exposed to 250 °C radiant heat.

  3. Hospital sterilisation units – Autoclave carts need wheels that won’t outgas or deform under 134 °C steam cycles.

Conclusion

With a 70 kg static rating, this wheel is best on trolleys, dollies or racks that see floor loads under 50 kg per wheel. For heavier bakery racks or kiln cars, upgrade to our Heavy-Duty Heat-Resistant model (100 kg load bearing wheel).
